Dr. Mantyh: Specific perioperative bundles can drastically reduce surgical site infections in colorectal surgery patients.

Dr. Mantyh: The overall reduction from 24.9% to 5.6% was quite impressive.

Medical Research: What should clinicians and patients take away from your report?

Dr. Mantyh: Relatively simple and inexpensive changes can significantly reduce infection rates.

Medical Research: What recommendations do you have for future research as a result of this study?

Dr. Mantyh: We are planning on initiating these bundles to other high-risk operations.
