Dr. Li: Calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS) is one of the most common valvular heart diseases in older adults, affecting approximately 2–7% of individuals over the age of 65. Although chronic inflammation is increasingly recognized as an important contributor to disease progression, the upstream triggers remain incompletely understood.
