A teenager's body is still developing. Their relationship to food and body image is shaped by a different set of social pressures. Any treatment plan has to account for a family unit that is almost always involved in decisions an adult patient would make alone. Mochi Health has built a pediatric offering specifically for that population, extending its care model to patients aged 13 to 18 with the stated goal of early intervention to improve long-term health outcomes, according to the company. According to the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), clinical practice guidelines now recommend early, intensive intervention for children and adolescents with obesity, emphasizing that treatment should be family-centered, involve behavioral and nutritional components, and be guided by clinicians with appropriate pediatric expertise.
