Eyelid surgery is one of the most established procedures in facial rejuvenation, yet the relatively small treatment area can make appropriate patient selection particularly important. Patients often describe concerns such as heavy upper eyelids, under-eye bags, loose skin, or a persistently tired appearance. Although these complaints may sound straightforward, similar appearances can arise from different anatomical causes. Effective treatment therefore begins with identifying the structures responsible for the concern rather than simply deciding how much skin or fat should be removed.
