MedicalResearch.com: What is the background for this study?
For whom would this treatment be indicated?

Response: The standard of care for local breast cancer includes surgery, however many patients are poor surgical candidates or refuse surgery. I use cryoablation to treat this population.

MedicalResearch.com: What are the main findings?

Response:  10% recurrence rate in 15 month follow up. Patients with poorly differentiated disease were more likely to recur.

MedicalResearch.com: What should readers take away from your report?

Response: Cryoablation offers promising results for patients who are poor surgical candidates.

MedicalResearch.com: What recommendations do you have for future research as a results of this study?

Response: Larger studies are needed in a cohort that include large tumors (>1.5 cm) that are poor surgical candidates. Assess whether the addition of radiation or hormonal therapy impact outcome.
