MedicalResearch.com: What is the background for this study?

Response: With diagnoses of coronavirus increasing, Cigna is committed to helping contain the virus, removing barriers to testing and treatment, and giving peace of mind to its clients and customers.

MedicalResearch.com: How should patients obtain the test if they are concerned about COVID-19?

Response: Cigna customers who suspect they have symptoms of COVID-19 should contact their primary care physician for guidance on whether to undergo testing for the virus and where to obtain that testing.

MedicalResearch.com: Will there be co-pays, coinsurance or deductibles for customers?

Response: Co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles are waived for the medical test when prescribed by health practitioners.

MedicalResearch.com: What else is Cigna doing to provide support and guidance on coping with concerns about the epidemic?

Response: Cigna is encouraging everyone to follow the guidance provided by local health authorities, the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We have also put together resources, information, and helpful links in our Disaster Resource Center to keep our customers, clients, employees and partners up-to-date and informed.

As we do in all emergency settings, we are partnering closely with our pharmaceutical suppliers and medical providers to ensure our customers have uninterrupted access to their medications and the care they need.

We are actively communicating, guiding and providing support to our colleagues in Asia, Europe and around the world. Taking a community-by-community approach, we are providing our team members with flexible work settings and schedules. Additionally, we are increasing awareness on health guidelines and travel restrictions to minimize exposure and keep people as safe as possible.

Also, recognizing that health outbreaks can increase feelings of stress, anxiety and sleeplessness and in some cases, loss, Cigna is staffing a 24-hour toll-free telephone help line to connect customers and caregivers directly with qualified clinicians who can provide support and guidance on coping and resiliency.

MedicalResearch.com: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Response: For Cigna customers, telehealth options are available for on-demand medical attention that minimizes exposure risk, as appropriate. To access telehealth options, visit mycigna.com and select the “Connect Now” button on the home page to talk with a doctor or nurse any time day or night.
